What is lip blush?

What is lip blush? Lip tattoo and lip blush explained

A lip tattoo places pigment in the shallow layers of the lip to improve colour and definition. It is also called lip blush or semi-permanent lip colour.

Lip blush usually means the softer version: rather than a solid lipstick effect, colour is applied lightly, like blusher, so your lips look like a healthier version of their own shade. That natural finish is what we suggest by default.

By concern

Lip blush for common lip concerns

Everyone comes in with a different reason. These are the most common ones and how we approach them.

01

Dull or uneven lip colour

If your lips look dark or patchy, we choose a shade that suits your skin tone and even out the whole lip. What can be achieved depends on the existing pigment in your lips, and it can take more than one session to adjust.

02

Looking pale without makeup

A little colour on the lips changes your whole bare-faced look. We aim for a restrained flush that does not fight your everyday makeup.

03

A blurred lip line

Where the outline has faded, we define it along your natural shape. The goal is gentle adjustment in balance with your face, not a dramatic change of shape.

Choosing a colour

Choosing your shade: coral, pink, rose or red

The same pigment looks different on different lips. We ask about your natural lip colour, your skin tone, the look you want and the lipsticks you usually wear before suggesting a colour.

  • Coral: sits easily on warmer skin tones and gives a bright, healthy look.
  • Pink: soft and fresh; the amount of blue in it changes the mood.
  • Rose: a calmer, more grown-up flush, often chosen for lips that look dull.
  • Red tones: for a more visible colour, and you can start subtle.

The colours possible and the result depend on the existing pigment in your lips. If you have a favourite lipstick, send us a photo of it. It helps a lot.

Price & booking

The lip blush price, along with touch-up and deposit terms, is confirmed when you book. Planning brows as well? See the price list.

Prices are in KRW, and you can pay by cash or card. Lips typically need a touch-up considered once healed, depending on how the colour settles.

Pain

Does lip blush hurt?

Lip skin is thin and everyone feels it differently. If you are worried about discomfort, tell us at the consultation.

Whether numbing is used, and how, is explained when you book. You can ask for a break at any time during the treatment.

Downtime & healing

Lip blush downtime and healing

Straight after treatment you may see temporary redness, swelling, darker colour or flaking. How healing goes and the final colour depend on your skin and the type of treatment, so no particular result can be promised.

  • Lips usually peel after a few days and can feel dry. Don't pull the skin off, and keep moisturising as instructed.
  • For a while afterwards, avoid spicy food, very hot drinks and alcohol. We will tell you when you can go back to lipstick and other lip products.
  • If you have ever had cold sores, please mention it when you book.
  • Keep your hands clean and avoid touching the area unnecessarily.
  • In the early healing period, it is best to avoid saunas, pools and anything that makes you sweat heavily.
  • Don't use harsh cosmetics or exfoliating products on the area.
  • Cleanse and moisturise only as instructed after your treatment.
  • The colour straight after treatment can differ from the healed colour.
  • If pain or swelling gets worse, or you notice heat, pus or other signs of infection, see a doctor promptly.

Detailed care for each area follows the written aftercare sheet we give you at the studio. Before treatment, tell us about any previous semi-permanent makeup or tattoo (with photos), allergies to pigment or anaesthetic, pregnancy or breastfeeding, medication and recent skin procedures. See downtime and aftercare for more.

How it works

Lip blush in six steps

From booking to aftercare, lip blush follows these six steps. As a guide, the appointment takes about 1.5–2 hours.

  1. 01

    Step 01 · Booking and pre-consultation

By WhatsApp, Instagram, KakaoTalk or LINE we confirm the treatment you want, your visit dates, any previous treatment history and your reference images.

  2. 02

Step 02 · Custom design consultation

We look at your face shape, muscle movement, left–right asymmetry, your current lip colour and condition and your own taste, all together.

  3. 03

    Step 03 · Design check

We look at the design with you in the mirror and adjust it towards the direction you want.

  4. 04

    Step 04 · Treatment

Working from the agreed design and colour, we choose the method that suits your skin and the existing pigment in your lips, then begin.

  5. 05

Step 05 · Finished design check

We review the finished design together and explain how the colour will change and how healing usually goes.

  6. 06

    Step 06 · Aftercare guidance

We explain the care and precautions for the treated area. If a touch-up is needed, we discuss it with you individually.

Choosing a studio

Choosing a lip blush studio in Busan Seomyeon

When you are booking from abroad, it helps to ask a few questions by message first. For example:

  • Will the same person handle the consultation and the treatment?
  • Is the colour mixed to suit your natural lips?
  • What does the price include, and what are the touch-up terms?
  • What aftercare is given, and how can you get in touch after you fly home?
  • Do they check your skin and history, such as cold sores, before treatment?

At MODA BROW, the director works one-to-one with only 4 clients a day. Ask us anything by message before you book.

FAQ

Lip Blush FAQ

Is lip blush different from a lip tattoo?

Lip blush is usually the softer style of lip tattoo, with light colour for a natural flush. That is what we suggest by default.

Will the colour stay as bright as on day one?

Typically not. Colour looks strongest at first and settles after the lips peel. The final shade is judged once healed.

My lips are naturally dark or dull. Can I still get the colour I want?

The colours possible and the result depend on the existing pigment in your lips. Send a photo of your bare lips and we will give you an idea before your visit.

I sometimes get cold sores. Can I still book?

Please tell us when you book so we can check your situation before the appointment.

Can I eat straight after?

Yes, but it is best to avoid spicy or very hot food for a while. We explain the details after your treatment.

Will I need a touch-up?

How colour holds on lips varies a lot, so a touch-up is typically considered once healed. Timing and terms are confirmed when you book.

Can I have brows and lips on the same day?

Let us know when you book and we will check scheduling and treatment time for you.

Can I consult in English?

Yes. Message us in English by WhatsApp, Instagram, KakaoTalk or LINE. For Japanese-speaking clients, a Japanese interpreter is on site.
